Boniface Maina

Boniface Maina, born in 1987 in Nanyuki, Kenya, has established himself as a prominent figure in the Nairobi art scene. His academic pursuit in Art and Design at the YMCA National Training Institute from 2007 to 2008 laid the groundwork for his artistic career, which has been in active development since 2009. Maina's artistry is characterized by a versatile exploration of themes, media, and materials, guided by an intent to delve into and question human behaviors and tendencies. Drawing inspiration from everyday interactions, music, the natural world, and human figures, his work fosters thought-provoking dialogues.

Maina's artistic contributions have gained recognition both locally and internationally, with his works being featured in prestigious magazines, art books such as "Visual Voices" and "Masters of Contemporary Art Vol. 1," as well as in numerous news articles. His participation in notable events like The Lamu Painter's Festival and the Safaricom Jazz Festival 2015 has further cemented his status as an influential artist.

As a co-founder and integral member of Brush Tu Art Studio, Maina has not only produced his own art but also played a significant role in mentoring and facilitating the growth of upcoming artists. He has actively engaged in workshops, sharing his knowledge and passion for art with others.
