About the Artist
Ebtihal Hussaen Al-Toum Mustafa embarked on her artistic journey as an amateur in 2016, rapidly evolving into a passionate and committed artist. Her initial foray into the art world was marked by participation in various workshops, notably including an art workshop for the deaf and mute in Al-Obeid in 2016 and a sustainable development workshop at the Rashid Diab Center in 2017. Ebtihal's dedication to her craft led her to the College of Fine and Applied Arts, where she specialized in painting and graduated with first-class honors in 2023.
Ebtihal's involvement in art and social causes continued to grow, as evidenced by her participation in several significant workshops, including those under the auspices of the United Nations. Her work in the Sustainable Development Workshop in Petronas in 2019, the International Women’s Day event with the UN in 2020, the Psychological Trauma Workshop at the Khartoum Art Gallery Center in 2022, and a portrait workshop at the Museum of Modern Art in Doha in 2019, highlight her commitment to using art as a medium for education, awareness, and healing.
In addition to her workshop participations, Ebtihal has also made her mark through group exhibitions, demonstrating her skill and versatility across various themes and mediums. From showcasing watercolors at the Regency Hotel in 2016 to contributing to the group exhibition with The Muse in 2021, and the "Beginnings" exhibition at the Downtown Gallery in 2022, her work has consistently been recognized and celebrated. Her art was also featured in an event for International Women’s Day in 2023 with the Al-Sarira platform in Petronas, and she is currently participating in the second edition of the virtual exhibition "Art for Sudan Relief", sponsored by Sudanese American Medical, SPMF, and Downtown Gallery in 2023.
Ebtihal's contributions to the art world and her community were further acknowledged when she became the recipient of a production grant from the German Gotha Center in 2023. Her journey from an amateur to a celebrated artist is a testament to her talent, dedication, and the transformative power of art.
