Luís Diogo, born on July 11, 1988, in Luanda, Angola, is a distinguished self-taught plastic artist who splits his time and creative pursuits between Luanda and Cacuaco, Angola. In 2016, he made a significant contribution to the Angolan art scene by co-founding 'Oficina Kapela', marking a pivotal moment in his career. Diogo's educational background includes his early education at Escola do Soeiro followed by his secondary education at Liga Africana.
Diogo's artistic journey is highlighted by his participation in various collective exhibitions, notably at the International Theatre Festival in Elinga, where he showcased his work alongside the "Nationalaists" in three consecutive editions from 2014 to 2017. His art was also featured in the Galeria Hall de Pimentel / Blue House in 2007, and he made an impactful debut in the Angolan art world with his participation in the 1st BAI Arte and the 1st Trienal Fundação Sindika Dokolo in 2006. His artworks have garnered recognition and are part of several prestigious national and international collections, attesting to his significant role in contemporary Angolan art.
