About the Artist
Sizwe Khoza, born amidst the tumult of Mozambique's Civil War, relocated to South Africa in 1995, embarking on a journey that would see him become a notable figure in the world of art. After completing his matriculation in 2010, Khoza's dedication to his craft led him to attend Saturday classes at Artist Proof Studio, which later culminated in a residency at the William Humphrey Art Gallery.
By 2014, Khoza had taken on the role of an educator, teaching printmaking to first and second-year students full-time, sharing his knowledge and passion for art with the next generation. His connection to his Mozambican roots remains strong, as evidenced by his biannual trips back to Mozambique. These visits are not just homecomings but also serve as a rich source of inspiration for Khoza's work, allowing him to capture the essence of his homeland through photography and to create new works that reflect the vibrant culture and landscapes of Mozambique.
Khoza's expertise spans painting, monotype, and various printmaking techniques, showcasing his versatility and creativity as an artist. His recent exhibitions have displayed the depth and breadth of his talent, inviting viewers into his unique artistic perspective, shaped by his experiences in both Mozambique and South Africa.
