Thina Dube

Thina Dube, born in 1993, is a multifaceted South African artist whose repertoire spans from creating visual art to engaging in art therapy. A University of Johannesburg alumnus, Dube holds a postgraduate diploma in Education and imparts his knowledge as a teacher at the National School of the Arts. His commitment to fostering growth and healing extends to his work as an art therapist, where he has significantly contributed to the well-being of children with special needs.

Dube's artistic oeuvre has been showcased across numerous prestigious platforms, including the Turbine Art Fair, Constitution Hill, Sguzu Press Soweto, and AVA Cape Town. The year 2018 marked a milestone in his career with exhibitions at the Stellenbosch Museum, ABSA, Eclectica, and InToto. Furthermore, his collaboration with First Floor Gallery Harare through a residency program underscores his expanding artistic influence.

Dube's inaugural solo exhibition at Guns & Rain in 2018 was a defining moment, establishing him as a prominent figure in contemporary African art. His involvement with Guns & Rain since 2015 has facilitated his participation in significant art fairs and exhibitions, both locally and internationally, including Latitudes Art Fair in Johannesburg and AKAA in Paris.
