About the Artist
Tibebe Terffa, an esteemed Ethiopian artist born in 1948 in Harar, boasts an illustrious career initiated upon graduating from the Addis Ababa School of Fine Art in 1973. His artistic journey, marked by the formation of the Sixteen Young Artists Association, reflects his early commitment to the arts. Post-graduation, Tibebe dedicated several years to teaching art in Harar before transitioning to Addis Ababa, where his work as an illustrator and a studio artist flourished. His international presence is affirmed by solo exhibitions across Ethiopia, Kenya, Germany, Canada, the USA, and Spain, showcasing his versatile talent.
